The Bracco Italiano are the newest addition to the Canis Magnis Kennels. We were fortunate enough to get the best of the best in Admiral, our new stud dog. Admiral was awarded the best in his category in the World Dog competition in Asia. He also has many other recognitions in Europe, Asia, and Russia. We are very excited to see what he will accomplish here in the states. Admiral, Beatriche, and Vanga come to us from the kennels of Grafskoe Gnezdoe in Russia. Irina has been a very important part in helping us get the dogs safely to the US and in helping us get the best, sweetest, and most beautiful Braccos we could get. Our sincerest gratitude to her and her kennels.
The Braccos are a breed that has been around for over 2000 years according to many sources but only came to the US in the 1990’s. They had reached a point of being almost extinct but then experienced a resurgence not long ago. They are bird dogs mostly known for their great noses and their endurance, but also have a very sweet personality, an extremely soft and supple coat, and a strong family bond. According to the AKC they are “affectionate, intelligent, and enthusiastic”. The AKC also describes them as, “Tough and adapted to all types of hunting. The Bracco Italiano is reliable, intelligent, docile and easy to train. They have a powerful appearance, with lean limbs, well-developed muscles and a sculpted head. In English, they are the Italian Pointing Dog.”
We are very excited to have these sweet, smart, athletic, talented pups in our kennels and can’t wait to see their potential shine.
